Keep your cartridge out of the landfill, fill it up in Cherry Hill
Get your fill at Cartridge World – a business that keeps unnecessary waste from the landfill.
As the world’s largest retailer of remanufactured ink, Cartridge World gives consumers and businesses a “green” alternative to disposing of their used cartridges.
“The grade of plastic in these cartridges can’t be recycled and sits in landfills year after year,” said Thea Long, co-owner of the Cherry Hill location.
In fact, it takes about 450 years for a laser cartridge thrown in a landfill to decompose, according to the business’s Web site, www.cartridgeworldusa.com.
Each year, if the world’s discarded cartridges were stacked end to end, they would circle the Earth more than three times, Long added.
“It’s appalling,” she said, noting that every cartridge requires four quarts of oil to create. “We need to help preserve the Earth’s natural resources.”
Cartridge World is doing its best to make an impact on the growing concern, but 80 percent of printer users are still throwing away their cartridges.
Remanufacturing helps not only the environment, but your wallet, too, said Long.
“It depends on the cartridge, but you can save between 10 and 40 percent off the retail price of a new cartridge,” she said. “The average savings is between 20 and 30 percent.”
And customers will notice no difference between a brand-new and remanufactured cartridge, said Long.
“[The old cartridges] are not broken — they’re just empty,” she said. “What you get back is as good as the original.”
The Cherry Hill location has a “healthy inventory” and can accommodate about 98 percent of cartridges on the market, said Long, including HP, Dell, Canon, Lexmark and Epson.
Cartridge World refills inkjet cartridges for most home or small-business printers, whether they are multi-function, color or black and white. The business also handles laser toner cartridges for most high-speed copiers, color printers, all-in-one laser printers, fax machines and copiers.
The staff prides itself on its stellar customer service and offers a 100-percent guarantee, said Long.
Same-day delivery is available and Cartridge World offers free delivery on any order over $50, she said.
Convenient online ordering is available at www.cartridgeworldusa.com, and the plants that produce products for this business are all located within the United States, the owner added.
Cartridge World currently has more than 1,700 stores in 63 countries, said Long.
She and her husband, Marty, opened their store — the first in South Jersey — about three years ago.
“We were looking at franchise opportunities, and this was the biggest no-brainer in history,” said Thea Long. “This is a service everyone uses, we’re protecting the Earth and we’re helping people save money — what’s not to love?”
In June, the Cherry Hill Cartridge World was named number one out of 51 stores in New Jersey, she added.
“We really believe in what we do, and we love what we do,” she said.
Cartridge World is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
