Philly police searching for missing 83-year-old man

Philadelphia police were asking for help in locating Fred Anton, an 83-year-old Center City man with undisclosed medical issues who also is known as a Republican power broker in Pennsylvania politics.

Anton was last seen about 10:45 a.m. Wednesday leaving his residence in the unit block of North Christopher Columbus Boulevard.

"Mr. Anton is suffering from undisclosed medical issues and depression," police said Wednesday night

Anton, who is still listed as chairman on the website for the Pennsylvania Manufacturers' Association, is 6-feet 2-inches tall, 208 pounds, with blue eyes and bald. He has a cast on his left arm and was carrying a Whole Foods bag containing his medical equipment, police said. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue sweat pants that has a hole in the leg, and brown shoes.
