An unidentified man was fatally struck by a SEPTA train Thursday afternoon two miles north of the Fern Rock Transportation Center, resulting in the suspension of several regional rail lines and causing delays throughout the system.

The man, described as in his 60s, was hit by an outbound Warminster train about 3:35 p.m., authorities said.

The transit agency suspended the Warminster, Lansdale/Doylestown, and West Trenton lines while police investigated the incident. Shortly after 5 p.m., service resumed on the Lansdale/Doylestown and West Trenton lines. Warminster remained shut down until about 6:30 p.m.

SEPTA spokeswoman Kristin Mestre-Velez said commuters could experience delays of up to 40 minutes on other lines.
