A 22-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday night inside a corner store in North Philadelphia, police said.

About 7:05 p.m., the victim was sitting on a milk crate inside Brillante Mini Market at Sixth and Westmoreland Streets talking to an employee when two masked men entered the store and opened fire at "point blank range," said Chief Inspector Scott Small. At least 20 shots were fired from two semiautomatic handguns.

Police found the victim in an aisle with bullet wounds to his head, neck, torso, and leg. They rushed him to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:27 p.m.

The shooters left the scene without taking anything from the victim or the store, Small said.  Detectives were checking surveillance cameras inside and outside the store for possible video of the homicide and the suspects.
