Man, 50, fatally stabbed by woman in North Philly, police say

Just before 5:50 p.m. in the 2000 block of Dauphin Street, the woman allegedly stabbed the man once in the upper chest, police said. The man was taken by medics to Temple University, where he was pronounced dead at 6:28 p.m.

A 50-year-old man was fatally stabbed by a 35-year-old woman on a North Philadelphia street late Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Just before 5:50 p.m., the woman stabbed the victim once in the upper chest while on the 2000 block of Dauphin Street, police said. The man was taken by medics to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:28 p.m.

Police on Wednesday identified the victim as Derrick Daft, of the 5600 block of Ogontz Avenue.

The woman was taken into custody Tuesday night. Her name was not released. Police early Wednesday afternoon said homicide investigators were questioning the woman and that no charges have been filed.
