Here's what to see at Philly Fringe on Sept. 6
Wednesday night at the Fringe, Iron Age Theatre offers two standout shows at the Philadelphia Ethical Society: Marx in Soho with Bob Weick at 6 p.m.; and "To My Unborn Child: A Love Letter from Fred Hampton" at 8 p.m.
What to see at Fringe Wednesday night:
6 p.m.: Howard Zinn's Marx in Soho, performed by Bob Weick. Produced by Iron Age Theatre/Radical Acts. Karl Marx returns to Earth – to Soho in New York City. This one-man show made its Fringe debut in 2004 and is soon to go on an international tour for Marx's 200th birthday. Philadelphia Ethical Society, 1906 Rittenhouse Sq. 70 minutes. $15. And while you're there, why not hang around at the same venue and see this?:
8 p.m.: To My Unborn Child: A Love Letter from Fred Hampton. World premiere of Rich Bradford's play, in which the visionary Black Panther (who died in 1969 at 21) preaches in favor of humanity and compassion and against brutality, racial division, and poverty. Also by Iron Age Theatre at the Philadelphia Ethical Society, 1906 Rittenhouse Sq. 75 minutes. $20.
