An inmate at the Ocean County (N.J.) Jail has been charged with conspiracy for allegedly offering to pay $30,000 to have his lawyer kidnapped, taken to a wooded area, and shot in the head, and then have the body set on fire and the remains disposed of in a body of water.

Michael Nocera, 43, of Beachwood, N.J., who had been in custody since late August on charges of aggravated sexual assault, child pornography, and endangering a child, all involving a victim under age 13, talked about what he wanted done to his lawyer while he was an inmate, according to Al Della Fave, a spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation began in late December, when the Prosecutor's Office was made aware of Nocera's conversations while he was awaiting trial. He was arrested on the new charges on Thursday, and remains at the jail.

Della Fave declined to identify the attorney whom Nocera allegedly targeted, or discuss the specifics of what Nocera is charged with.
